Check-ins from alumni

We love hearing from graduates during all phases of their transitions from college to the world of work. It’s our pleasure to share updates from three of our alumni.

As a Senior Scientist at Novartis, Ahiram Rodriguez is working on breast cancer therapies. He’s also exploring opening a small business on the side. In 2015, Ahiram earned a bachelor’s degree in bioengineering and biomedical engineering from UC San Diego. We know he’ll succeed in all of his endeavors!

SDEF Alum Hy Huynh, a 2023 math and computer science graduate from UC San Diego, is busy training at GenSpark to become a full stack developer. That’s a person who builds and maintains the front and back ends websites. Hy is excited for GenSpark to match him with a client after his training is finished.

We love to bask in the glow of shining stars like Larisa Dummer, who brought tears to our eyes with her thank you note: “Thank you all for being a part of my journey in college. I could not imagine college without you guys. Thank you again.”

You are most welcome, Larisa!
