Dreaming of research in cancer and genetics

Cameron Norman is determined to bring his talents to the fight to cure cancer.

A 2024 Morse High School alum, Cameron got hooked on science at an early age, thanks in part to the “awe of discovery” he experienced from the geology, biology and entomology books his mother brought home. In high school, during a visit to Salk Institute, he was inspired by a conversation with a genomics researcher and “starry-eyed” within the bright hallways and equipment of the laboratories.

“I fell in love,” Cameron said. “I knew I had to learn more.”

As a San Diego Education Fund STEM Scholar, Cameron has impressed us with his tip-top GPA and participation in numerous extracurricular and community service programs. We are excited track his journey of scientific discovery.

Congrats, Cameron!
