In-studio at FOX 5
Two of our superstars appeared in an in-studio interview Nov. 14 at FOX 5 San Diego.
Program Manager Mary Castleberry and second-year scholar Abigail Gonzalez told news anchors Maria Arcega-Dunn and Phil Blauer that San Diego Education Fund Scholarships fund students from start to finish of their college careers.
Students also receive the benefit of advocacy from Mrs. Castleberry and fellowship with other scholars in the program.
“It’s really helpful to have the mentorship,” said Abigail, an aspiring elementary school teacher and Patrick Henry High School alumna. “We also have the opportunity to meet with other recipients, past and current, and we’re able to get advice from them and mentorship from them, as well.”
